Threads
Conversational posts where a reply can out-reach the original.
Threads favours plain, conversational text and rewards replies. It has no hashtag culture, so reach comes from a strong opening line and being genuinely worth answering.
Connect Threads
Threads connects with your Threads login.
- Open Channels and select Threads → Connect.
- Sign in to Threads and approve publishing and replies.
- The profile appears in your channel list.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Post limit | 500 characters |
| Media | Up to 10 items per post |
| Links | Included in the 500-character count |
| Culture | Hashtags do very little. Skip them |
The composer checks these as you type, so a post that's too long for Threads is flagged before it's scheduled.
What works on Threads
- Opinions and questions
- Casual product updates
- Chains that continue a thought
Tips
Write like a message, not a billboard
Lowercase, direct, first person. Threads reads more like a group chat than a broadcast network.
Leave a gap for replies
A post that fully closes its own argument gives nobody a reason to answer. End with the open question.
Chain long ideas deliberately
Use a chain when an idea genuinely needs it, and keep each link short. 500 characters is a hard stop.
Avoid
- Pasting a wall of hashtags from an Instagram caption.
- Posting an identical copy of an X post with no tonal change.
- Long chains where the second post is weaker than the first.
